What is one thing that all teachers worry about? Well, I am sure there are many things, but I am thinking about the problem of time. I know when I was in school teachers always said they never have enough time and I know I am worried about having enough time to teach all of the material I need to in the amount of time given. Also, in the math classroom one thing that is taken away to save time, but is crucial to student's learning, is formative assessments. Blogging can be a great way for students to be able to document what they have learned for the day. I think to do this you can give students certain things they have to include, but not be too specific. For example, you can tell students to document everyday what learning targets they mastered and explain it as if they were teaching someone else the material. Ask students to include examples, diagrams, drawings, videos or anything else they can to help other students and the you understand what they have learned. After explaining what they have learned, have students write one thing that they are confused on. Students can look up the concept on YouTube, and include a link to the video. I think that this will not only help students track their own progress and be responsible for their own learning, but it can also help other students to understand material that they may not have grasped in class.
